Stall

You say that you want me
You do not want me
You want the unattainable
Which I just so happen to be
Right now
But if you could capture me
Break me like a wild horse
All my power, my allure
Would be trampled behind me
As we made way to the keeping stall
You say you left her
She didn’t appreciate you
But you didn’t leave her
You left the mirror in her
That showed you all the things
You hate in yourself
You see, it’s not a riddle or a mystery
So much as a formula
That we all seem to map
On our journey out of the baptismal pool of innocence
And into the desert of lust.
