Modern Goddess

Narcissa-
She carved her own face in the faces of others
Eyes blinded by blood, they could no longer look upon her
And she wept.

Humilia-
She sat at water’s edge, making ripples in the rill
Sending her face off as an immaterial, murmured message
Looking up.
